Yesterday, we went to Me'me' and Pe'pe's to carve some pumpkins. Glen did not seem all that interested in it, after all there was a little dog that needed chasing around! He did help with pulling the guts out and throwing them away some. To get the full affect of the guts, he had to eat some of them, and one bite was not enough to figure out the weird innards of the pumpkin. I think he did, however, get his fill after a couple of mouthfuls. His favorite thing was holding the spoon that the innards were scraped out with and attempting to copy his Pe'pe'. He also enjoyed throwing the pumpkin top into the trash can. Mommy and Pe'pe' ended up carving the pumpkins, and if I do say so myself, they look magnificent! After some carving, we had hot dogs with mac and cheese for dinner. Glen told me that the mac and cheese tasted much better than the pumpkin. Afterwards, we had our first bit of pumpkin pie for the season. Yummy!
Today, I asked Glen if he wanted to go to kiddersize and he shook his little head yes till I thought it would come off! So off to kiddersize we went. Glen did so well! We did some singing and dancing, then the teacher grabbed the box of sticks that we hit together. As soon as Glen saw her reach for the box he started running over to her. I guess he knew what she was doing. After all the kids started reaching in, my polite little boy waited patiently. Then he reached in and grabbed a yellow stick and instead of grabbing whatever stick was on top he dug till he found a matching yellow stick!! I'm thinking yellow is his favorite color right now. I asked him to get mommy some sticks and he came back with another yellow one! So I grabbed one on top instead of making him dig for another yellow stick. He really enjoys the sticks. Then when it was time to put them away, he took my sticks and his sticks back to the bin and put them away. When it was time for instruments he ran to the teacher again and stood there watching all the other kids grab their favorite instruments. Since he was in the way of all the kids and not grabbing an instrument, I grabbed one for him. It was a ring with bells on it and he really liked it. Started shaking it and having a good time. Apparently it was someone else's favorite toy, cause she grabbed it from him. Poor Glen, he stood there looking at her like he didn't quite know what just happened. Then he found another ring with bells that wasn't quite as good, another adult I think saw what happened and gave him a set of cymbals. He was happy with them, but I could tell it wasn't the same for him. After kiddersize there was a Halloween puppet show. It was Glen's first puppet show. He enjoyed it and when the black kitten took the pumpkin from the farmer he looked at me and did his hands as if to say why did he take the pumpkin or where did he go? It was precious. He did so much better this time at kiddersize than before, I am very proud of him!
