Traveling!!

We went on a short road trip with Pe'pe' to Florida last week. We had a really good time. Got to see Grandma Nancy, Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Marilyn, Jake, Kasey, and Kalley. Glen really liked playing with his second cousins and riding around on the golf cart. The first night we were there we had a birthday dinner for Pe'pe'. We got to see lots of Christmas lights and go get ice cream one night. Glen did a lot of playing outside in the Florida dirt and he got to see a puffer snake and lots of cows and fox squirrels! On the way home we made a point to look for cows to help the time to go by quicker. Every time Glen saw cows in a pasture he would point and say moo! then he would wave bye bye to the cows and say his version of bye. He did very well in the car on the trip. Needless to say though we are not getting in the car seat today.

Poor Glen!

Glen has had a really rough day. He has been sick all day with a fever and being really tired and cranky and not wanting to eat or drink and throwing up what I managed to get him to eat. Not fun! He has miraculously made a complete turn around here in the past 15 mins. He is now eating saltines and drinking and moving around the house. I think he is on the mend, which is good because we do not need any more vomiting on the furniture!

On Saturday we went to visit Great Grandma Virginia, and Grandma Mac. We really enjoyed the visit with both of them and they really enjoyed seeing Glen. They are both doing very well and we can't wait to see them again which will probably be at Christmas.

Glen's Birthday

Well, Glen had an uneventful birthday due to my lack of planning ahead this year. I'm not to distraught over it. I figure if there was gonna be a year that I dropped the ball this was the year to do it. He is only two so he doesn't really get the whole party thing yet, but next year it will probably be different so I can not drop the ball again next year! He still got lots of presents though. He got books, blocks, bead maze, a truck and cars, maracas, bells, a remote control car, clothes, a tiger flash light, a bouncy ball and money! He cleaned up for his birthday! Wonder if there is gonna be anything left for Christmas.

We got our Christmas lights up and they look really good. We want to leave at night just so we can come back and see the lights as we drive up the street! We put the Christmas tree up last weekend and it looks wonderful too. We got a really good looking tree at Home Depot for 20 bucks! It is a little taller than I am, but that's perfect cause we really don't have a lot of room! Now Glen is just waiting for Santa to come put some presents under it. I still have to hang the stockings and put up the nativity scene, I'm gonna try doing that this weekend.

We are going to the mall today to get Glen's pic taken with Santa and then Pe`pe` and I are gonna go and see a movie on I Max while Glen hangs out with Me`me`. Should be a pretty good day.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was pretty good. Glen is turning into quite the attention grabber. He had everyone at Thanksgiving just laughing at him and playing with him and his toys.

Glen is now in his big boy bed! So proud of him. He loves that bed! He runs into his room just to throw himself onto the bed and giggle. The first night we put Glen in his big boy bed he slept through the night and didn't get up. The second night, however, he woke up at 2:30am and did some tossing and turning. I heard him breathing differently on the monitor that I turned back on for this occasion. I went in and checked on him and he was wide awake lying in his bed. So I went back to bed since he was where he belonged. I continued to hear the breathing and thought that I should go and check on my poor baby who was having a hard time sleeping. I opened his door to find him with a reading light, not sure where he found that in his dark room, turned on and looking for a certain book on his bookshelf! He turned around and gave me that dear in the headlights look and darted over to his bed and jumped in it! So cute! He has only gotten out of the bed one other time and he even naps in there now. Time to move the crib! Oh how my little boy is growing up. Is there some kind of elixir that I can give him to stop the growing?!

I went shopping this morning (black Friday) at toys r us and got everything I went for! I got there an hour after the sale started and it was so pleasant! Most everyone was polite to each other and helped each other out. Nothing like Wal-mart was last year. Those Wal-mart people are crazy! I will not be going back there again on black Friday! But Toys r us I loved and plan to make a go of it again next year! We got Christmas lights today too! Can't wait to hang those!

Sam is on call for work starting yesterday. Luckily he didn't get any calls yesterday, but he made up for it today. He go 4 calls that needed to be taken care of today. The first one was at 2:15am but luckily he needed a part and was able to get the info for the part from the guy that was on call before him. So he got to go back to bed and be at the parts store at 7 am to get the part. Notice I said back to bed and not back to sleep. Poor guy didn't get much sleep after that. Then he got another call from a hospital and had to get the back up on call guy to take care of it. When he was done with the first place he had to go to a bank and take care of them, then after that he had to go to another place! He had been to the other side of Atlanta and back today. Then we were sitting down to eat dinner and the phone rang yet again! Yes, my poor husband got another call. He is still there now. Maybe this will be the last one this weekend! Let's hope.

Lots of Love

Family!!

Mims and Pips stopped by Mom and Dad's house and stayed for a couple of nights on their way to Florida. Glen got to spend the night with them Sunday and all day on Monday. We had a big family dinner last night and we had a great time. There was a lot of laughing that's for sure. We missed Nick, but maybe he can come next time.
Since Glen spent the night with his grandparent's and great grandparents, I got to sleep in and go to the gym later than normal. I was also able to take a couple of hours and go to the scrapbook store and get some stuff. I can't do that with Glen, because he likes to try and pull everything off of the shelves from his stroller (the store is really small, kinda like the card aisles at Hallmark).
Today we are going to go to story time and have some fun. Hope everyone is doing well.

Something New Again!!

Glen did something new again today! He sat on his train and used his feet to push himself! His feet now touch the ground while he is sitting on the train that he loves so much!! I am so proud of him! He pushed the train into the kitchen where it was in front of the oven door. He sat on the train and looked at his reflection in the oven door. This is something he does quiet often. Not sure why but he looks at himself there all the time and smiles. After he was done smiling at himself he started pushing himself forward with his feet!! Boy is he growing up quick. Hopefully the next new thing I blog about will be Glen talking.

Happy Halloween!!

Or what's left of it! Glen had an awesome time tonight! He spent the night with Me'me' and Pe'pe' last night and he helped get ready for Halloween tonight. Glen dressed up as a lion and he let me put some makeup on his face. He was not about to wear the lion head with the ears and the mane, but that's ok. It was his first time dressing up! It wasn't long after we put the makeup on that he smeared it, I was able to get a couple of good pics before that. Glen helped give candy to trick or treaters. His job was to close the door after the kids left. He did an excellent job! Glen's favorite thing tonight was his orange jack-o-lantern candy bucket. He carried that think all over the place. He insisted on holding it in his car seat on the way home and fell asleep with it. He was so cute. We went trick or treating to three houses of people that we knew. Next year it's on! He did so well trick or treating that we are hitting three subdivisions! The rain will not stand in the way of candy!!

Pumpkin Carving Time!!

Yesterday, we went to Me'me' and Pe'pe's to carve some pumpkins. Glen did not seem all that interested in it, after all there was a little dog that needed chasing around! He did help with pulling the guts out and throwing them away some. To get the full affect of the guts, he had to eat some of them, and one bite was not enough to figure out the weird innards of the pumpkin. I think he did, however, get his fill after a couple of mouthfuls. His favorite thing was holding the spoon that the innards were scraped out with and attempting to copy his Pe'pe'. He also enjoyed throwing the pumpkin top into the trash can. Mommy and Pe'pe' ended up carving the pumpkins, and if I do say so myself, they look magnificent! After some carving, we had hot dogs with mac and cheese for dinner. Glen told me that the mac and cheese tasted much better than the pumpkin. Afterwards, we had our first bit of pumpkin pie for the season. Yummy!

Today, I asked Glen if he wanted to go to kiddersize and he shook his little head yes till I thought it would come off! So off to kiddersize we went. Glen did so well! We did some singing and dancing, then the teacher grabbed the box of sticks that we hit together. As soon as Glen saw her reach for the box he started running over to her. I guess he knew what she was doing. After all the kids started reaching in, my polite little boy waited patiently. Then he reached in and grabbed a yellow stick and instead of grabbing whatever stick was on top he dug till he found a matching yellow stick!! I'm thinking yellow is his favorite color right now. I asked him to get mommy some sticks and he came back with another yellow one! So I grabbed one on top instead of making him dig for another yellow stick. He really enjoys the sticks. Then when it was time to put them away, he took my sticks and his sticks back to the bin and put them away. When it was time for instruments he ran to the teacher again and stood there watching all the other kids grab their favorite instruments. Since he was in the way of all the kids and not grabbing an instrument, I grabbed one for him. It was a ring with bells on it and he really liked it. Started shaking it and having a good time. Apparently it was someone else's favorite toy, cause she grabbed it from him. Poor Glen, he stood there looking at her like he didn't quite know what just happened. Then he found another ring with bells that wasn't quite as good, another adult I think saw what happened and gave him a set of cymbals. He was happy with them, but I could tell it wasn't the same for him. After kiddersize there was a Halloween puppet show. It was Glen's first puppet show. He enjoyed it and when the black kitten took the pumpkin from the farmer he looked at me and did his hands as if to say why did he take the pumpkin or where did he go? It was precious. He did so much better this time at kiddersize than before, I am very proud of him!

No Heads Up!!

I never got a heads up from any moms that when I put my child down for a nap, he would precede to pull his pants off. Then move to the poopy diaper and take that off! Oh my goodness, what a mess on our hands! I have been sick, so I was lying down and I heard Sam go in and check on Glen. Next thing I hear is the panic call of my name from Sam. Hahaha! I walked into quite a sight. Sam is holding Glen under the arms away from him and the room stinks like poop. I thought it was quite funny. Sam didn't. It could have been so much worse. Glen threw the dirty diaper to the floor, luckily it landed right side up and not upside down so no poop on the carpet, miracle number 1! The only poop Glen got on him, was on his foot, not sure how he managed that one cause the diaper was full of poop, miracle number 2! There was some poop on the sheets and on his favorite blanket, not too bad. Miracle number 3, Glen did not play in the poop, draw on the wall with the poop, or eat the poop! Like I said it could have been so much worse, so to me this was a laughing matter. Glen heard me laughing and he decided that he should laugh to, so we got a hearty HaHaHa from him! Icing on the cake. Does this mean he is ready for potty training? Not sure. We'll play it by ear.

So a warning to any new mothers: beware! Child may take diaper off, be ready for it to be a poopy diaper!

I have been sick since Wed. night and have lost my voice. Sam is really enjoying the peace and quiet, and the lack of nagging I have been able to do. Having no voice has really frustrated me and poor Glen does not know how to handle it. Hopefully it will be back soon. Sam is having a great weekend so far. Georgia Tech won yet another game, to University of Virgina, which was a big win, and if the Falcons pull out a win today at 4pm then it will have been a perfect weekend for him.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Fun With Grandma Mac!

We took Glen to see Grandma Mac and Uncle John yesterday. Glen had a good time visiting with them and miss B. We went to Baldino's for lunch on the way there, that was yummy! We got Grandma Mac on facebook while we were there so she can stay up to date with us and us with her. The only down fall was that we didn't get any pictures. Oh well, maybe next time. Today we might go to the park again. We'll see.

A Day of No Rain!!

On Friday, Glen and I went to the park for some fresh air. Poor Glen had not been able to play outside since the rain started. Except for one day, it was warm enough to go outside and play in the puddles. Glen had such a good time. There really is nothing like a good puddle to jump in and see how high you can get it to splash! The weather was cold and windy and a little overcast but there was no rain! Glen played on the playground and watched the big kids intently. Finely, he got thirsty and decided that he had enough of the big kids taking over the little kids play area, so I followed him to the stroller, where he grabbed his cup of juice, and we started walking. He touched everything he saw, even the mushrooms. I don't think he was quite sure of those. He did some people and dog watching, then decided it would be fun to try running into the parking lot so mommy had to strap him back into the stroller. We went for a 2.25 mile walk, which Glen fell asleep during. Then I sat in a bench swing and read until Glen woke up. It really was a great day!

More tomorrow, we are going to see Grandma Mac and Great Grandma. Gonna be another great day!

Such a big boy!

Glen spent the night with his Me`me` and Pe`pe` last Wed, Thurs, and Fri. nights. His Great Grandma Nancy stopped by on her way home to Florida from Tennessee. We got to spend the whole day on Friday with her and we went to lunch in Athens. Then Me`me` cooked a big family meal and Glen's Uncle Nick and his girlfriend Jaclyn were there. After dinner Glen went to bed and all the adults played Cardinal Mexican Train and had a good time. We really enjoyed seeing Great Grandma Nancy.

Today, Glen went to get his flu shot. My big boy didn't make a sound when he got the shot! He just watched the nurse give the shot and then we were done. Then on the way home he said horse! At first I couldn't believe my ears, then he said it again (I think just in case I didn't hear the first time). Now he is outside playing in a puddle that is past his ankles! What fun!!

That's all for now, I gotta go join in on the fun!!

What Fun!!

Yesterday, we went to the park with a friend I've known since high school. Glen had a lot of fun playing with her beautiful 4 year old daughter and was very curious about her 3 month old daughter. We had a lot of fun. Glen also learned a very valuable lesson yesterday, not to walk in front of kids on swings. Glen ate dirt and my friend's daughter was very upset that she hurt Glen. After we got her calmed down while I was holding Glen, she started smiling and swinging again. Glen ate a lot of dirt and it was up his nose. We got him all cleaned up and he seemed to be fine once he stopped crying. He was also tired so I don't think that helped any. Today, there is only a couple of little scratches on his face and a couple of bruises. He paid a little bit more attention when he was near the swings after that. Unfortunately, I think it is going to take another shot from the swings till he really starts to pay attention. We had so much fun, we can't wait till time!!

We are gonna go to kiddsersize in Commerce today. We have some library books to return and I think we might get some more.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Still Sick!

Well, right after the flu, Glen developed his first caseof croup. He is taking his last dose of Orapred today and he is already doing better. It has been a while since we have been to storytime or mommy and me time. Hopefully Glen will be better next week and we can go back to socializing.

The weather has been nice here this week. The highs have been in the 70's and it was breezey the first half of the week. Sam got a new account at work and that is kind of exciting for him because it is only 10 min. from the house. He will be there for half the week next week. I have been enjoying the wonderful weather with the windows in the house open. If Glen takes an early enough nap today, we are gonna try and go to the park. We need to get away from the house, and not to go see the dr.

That's all for now!

Something New!!

Glen is trying out his climbing skills!! He is definitely all boy. Today he climbed up on the play set all by himself! He is now tall enough that he can get his leg up onto the surface that leads to the short slide. He climbed on up there like he has done it several times before and then crawled over to the big slide and slid down by himself before I could get there to hold his hands. The climbing part he did great, the sliding part didn't work out that well. He hit the ground with his butt and his head hit the slide. Luckily the slide is plastic and didn't really hurt him.

And if that wasn't enough, Glen climbed up onto the recliner without help and without a stool! He is getting bigger and bigger everyday! What will he do next?!

Yup, Flu!

Yes it was the flu! It definitly was not fun to watch the little guy go through that. He did pretty well all and all. When his fever got up to 102.8, he was running around playing with toys and acting like he wasn't even sick. Night time was the worst. He had a hard time sleeping. During the day he did pretty well. Played when he could, and just sat and watched some tv when he was tired.

We went to lunch with Me'me and Aunt Bonnie today. It was fun. Glen had a good time.

Glen had a speech on Wed. and the therapist has noticed a lot of improvement. He is starting vocalize more and he will now say yes or no to something. I think it won't be long and he is gonna start talking.

Sick again!

Poor Glen is sick again. Of course I think the last time he was sick was in April. It could be a cold virus or the flu. Either way there is nothing the dr can do so we have just been doing tylenol, fluid, and rest. It started the night before last. He has had a runny nose, fever and chills. Needless to say, we are not going to story time today. He slept much better after I gave him tylenol last night at 12:30 am. I think it broke his fever for a little while and the chills went away. The fever has started coming back since he woke up this morning though. It really hasn't phased his playing for the most part. My poor child, it is very hard to tell when he is sick cause he acts only slightly different than normal. Hopefully he will be back to normal before it is time to go to Me'me' and Pe'pe's house.

Great Day!!

Glen and I went to mommy and me time in commerce today and had a blast! Glen is old enough to try the kidsersize on Wed. so we are going to attempt it. We also found out that Jefferson has some kind of kids play group that meets during the week so I am going to do a little more research into that and hopefully it pans out. I took a little me time and went to get a Mani and Pedi and really enjoyed that. We went to Athens tonight to get Sam some shoes and then we went to dinner at Chili's. Glen ate two slices of cheese pizza and some corn and boy was he an active child at the dinner table. He insisted on being in the booth next to me and the boy would not sit still for a minute. We have found that he eats more if he is able to move around. During lunch today I let him stay out of his highchair and he a whole half of a turkey and mayo sandwich. I cut Glen's hair tonight and he was not happy about it. It had been a while and he forgot what it was like and he was a little scared but we got passed it and then got in the tub to was the pound of hair I cut off of him. He has been such a good boy today!

Glen and his hat!

Glen has gotten to where he likes to wear his hat everywhere. Two days ago he put it on as soon as soon as he got up and wore it during breakfast and to story time at the library. Yesterday he wore it all day again and he put it on this morning as soon as he found it. He is wearing it right now while he watches super why! and climbing on the couch and turning the light on and off. He also likes to pull it down over his eyes and try and walk around while he can't see. He also climbed up on to the coffee table yesterday and proceeded to push everything off until there was nothing on the table except him. Then he climbed down. I really wonder what goes through his head sometimes. We went to the farm this past weekend and had a blast with family! Glen did awesome at story time on tues. He kept trying to jump and shook his hands when we did the hokey pokey. He is so funny!

Jefferson Story Time!!

Glen had an awesome time at story time this morning. He got to see his friend Cole, and the book today was "Trashy Town". During the dance time Glen had attempted to jump and he did very well with all the other children. For craft we made a caterpiller out of an egg carton. I did most of the work, Glen helped put the glue on the tissue paper we used.

Sam has done a wonderful job of getting the back yard grass to grow and look good. The weeds are just about gone and the bermuda has really spread. He has been keeping busy this summer with work and the yard.

I hit the gym this morning and feel great! Now I'm trying to get the carpets cleaned!

Mommy and Me Time!!

We went to the Commerce Library today for Mommy and Me Time and had a blast!! We made lots of new friends and everyone was very nice! Glen met two other little boys that he enjoyed playing with. Glen was the oldest there but only by about 6 months. Glen fell asleep in the car on the way home so we are gonna go to McDonlads for lunch when he wakes from his nap. We can't wait till next fri!

Sippie Cups!!

Glen got to spend some time with Me'me' and Pe'pe' yesterday. He really had fun. Pe'pe' was not feeling well. We hope he is feeling better today.

I spent some quality time with the gym this morning, and I feel great! Need to get back into it and start going on a regular basis again.

Glen and I are gonna head to story time in a bit and we might start going to mommy and me at another library in Comerce on Fridays. On Sept. 2 the Braselton Library is going to start doing story time every Wed. So we might start going to that one too. Variety is the spice of Life. Or so THEY say. We'll try it and see.

Glen has graduated from the soft tip sippie cups to the hard tip sippie cups that are for 18 mos or older. He does not want anything to do with the "baby" sippie cups anymore. Boy is he growing up quick.

Oops!!

Found some pics that I missed when I posted pics earlier. They are some good ones of Glen and Pe'pe' when we went to the fountain at the Mall of Ga. That was a good day except for when I fell and hurt my back, but it's all better now. Glen really enjoyed the water at the fountain and the other kids.

Quiet Time!

We went to dinner with Me'me' and Pe'pe last night and then Glen went home with them and spent the night. He is spending the night tonight too. I am taking the time and enjoying myself. I tried to take Buddy to the park for a walk but he acted funny and wanted to keep going back to the car. So needless to say the walk was not very long. I don't think he is feeling well. Now I am just chillin around the house and enjoying the quiet. Sam and I are gonna watch a movie tonight and do some bird watching out back. I miss Glen, but I enjoy the quiet time.

Off to the Library!!

Took Glen to the library on Tues. He had a really good time. He socialized with all the people there and he stood in the center of the circle when we did the singing and dancing and watched everyone sing and dance. When we did the hokie pokie, we stuck our hands in and shook them all about and Glen saw everyone shaking their hands, so he shook his hands. He was great!! Then we marched in a circle to another song and Glen participated in that too. Then it was time for paints. Glen painted the best picture yet! Then he played with puppets with a couple of other kids and had a good time! We went to the park last week and we went for a walk and then we played on the swing and then we explored the play area and found some neat stuff to play on! We also got Glen and spill resistant bubble holder. It looks like winnie the pooh. He really likes bubbles.

That's all for now!!

Month of July

Well Glen had a big month last month. He learned how to wash a car and I think he really enjoyed it! He even kept his hat on, so he must have been really into washing the car if he didn't realize he had a hat on.

We took a trip to Pa to visit Grandmama and the Gov. for a little vacation. Glen really enjoyed himself. We went to Steam Town which is a national park with Grandmama and Aunt Marcie. It has an old time train station and we got to ride in an old train car that was pulled by an old diesal engine ( I think that is how you spell it). I pushed one of the windows up a little bit so we could get a breeze and Glen really liked it. Afterwards we went to Chuck E Cheese and had some pizza. Glen ate a whole slice. After lunch Glen rode in a couple of the kiddie rides there and he even put the coins in the slots to turn the ride on. We also went to Toys R Us and glen got a bubble machine that looks like a train in honor of his trip. He really enjoys bubbles. I finally got him blowing but not hard enough to make bubbles yet. The next day we went to Dorney Amusement and Water Park with Grandmama, the Gov. and Aunt Laurie. Glen really liked the little kid area. There was a frog slide and with a little help, he climbed up the frogs mouth and slid down the slide into the shallow water. He enjoyed it so much he did it over and over again. He learned that when he came down the slide he needs to walk around back to the ladder part. So now he does the slide at home with no problems. After the water park we went over to the amusement park and had more of a good time. Grandmama, the Gov. and I got to ride a roller coaster, while Aunt Laurie watched Glen. That was a fun roller coaster! Then we walked a round a bit. I tried to find the train ride for Glen but never found the entrance before it got dark. By the time we got back to the car Glen was ready for sleep. We also did cookouts and I got to ride quads with the Gov. and that was a blast. Sam was glad to see us when we got home and we were glad to be home.

Shortly after we got home, Aunt Shannon, Chase and Ty stopped by for a quick visit on their way home from Fl. We had a good time and the Glen really liked the boys. We played a little home run durby with the wiffle ball and we did some mario cart racing on the Wii. We really enjoyed the visit. Maybe next time they can stay longer and we can go to the aquarium or something.

Glen really likes the show Super Why on pbs. While he was watching it this morning he put his hand in his pocket for the first time. And I got it on video! How exciting! Glen is getting a lot better at feeding himself and he no longer walks. It is much more fun to run! He is turning into quite the little climber. We are attempting speach therapy to see if it will help him to start talking. We are a little worried he will be behind when he starts preschool so we are trying to get him caught up sooner than later.

I think that is all for now.

Love,

Sam, Amanda, and Glen

Month of June

Ok, so I know it's been a while and I'm sorry for that. Glen is doing wonderfully! He is over 22 lbs and 32 1/4 inches tall. He has some more teeth coming in and then I think he will be 4 teeth short of a full set. We started going to the library for story time in June and he really likes it. His socailization skills have greatly improved. He now shares the crayons. This was a big problem when we started going. He puts the hand puppets back in the bin when he is done with them, and he has a girlfriend. Her name is Samantha. The get along really well together and are about 2 weeks apart. Glen likes to play in the dog's water bowl and get really dirty. Meme and Pepe got Glen a pool and he really enjoys playing in it when he goes to visit. We got together for Father's day and had a cook out. That was lots of fun.

Glen and I went to the mall with Pepe a week ago and played in the fountain. He really enjoyed it. Me not so much 'cause I slipped and fell. I didn't drop the camera though! So my back is still hurting and hopefully I can get back to the gym soon.

Sam is doing well. Staying hydrated at work and not hurting himself, so that's good. He bought a new drill for work and he really likes it. Not much else going on with him.

On the 4th of July we went down to Memama's farm and had a really good time! We camped in a tent on the edge of one of the fields and heard lots of weird noises. Glen did awesome camping and fun playing with his cousins. We hope to get together in the fall with Sam's brother's family and do some camping. I think we will all have a blast!

I will try to keep everyone up to date and not get behind again

love to all

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day! We hung our POW flag on friday and Sam got all of the yard work done on fri, sat, and sun. We had a great long weekend together and Sam really enjoyed spending extra time with Glen. So much in fact that he was going through withdrawals when he went back to work. Monday was our friend Stacey's birthday, so we had a Memorial Day/birthday cookout. We had a lot of people here and really had a good time cooking out on the charcol grill, despite the massive quantities of flies and the rain we got. Glen is doing so well! There is not much update since the last time I wrote. I am posting a new video and new pics so you can see how big he is getting.

Something New!!

Glen did something new this morning! We were getting ready to have breakfast and I asked Glen if he was ready for breakfast and he walked over to his high chair and started pulling it out of the corner where we keep it when he is not eating. I thought that was awesome! He has never done that before. So I guess Glen is starting to understand more of what we say. He is doing so well. He loves his books. His favorite book right now is "Go Dog Go!" He carries it around with him most of the time. After breakfast, he brought me the book and we read it. Then he brought me a picture book and we read it too. When I asked him where the dog was, he put his hand on the picture of the dog. And when I asked him where the cat was he just looked at the book. So then I asked him where the gidget was and he put his hand on the cat. Meme' and Pepe' have a cat named gidget and I think that is why he calls all cats gidget. Isn't that cute?! Then he brought me goodnight moon and we read that. Then I asked him to bring me the blue book. And you know what? He brought me the blue picture book! The one I was asking for! I am so proud of him. (incase you can't tell). I thought I was done with this post and then Glen amazed me again. There is an off/on switch on his ball popper and he figured out how to turn it on all by himself. Usually when it is off, the big red button on it that he pushes to make it work won't work. So he'll scream to let me know that he wants to play with one of his favorite toys and then I go and flip the off/on switch. I think he has been watching me flip it and he tried it on his own this morning. Boy oh boy! Is he growing up quick!

Great Day!

Well Glen and I had a great day today! When daddy left to go to work Glen said bye. I am not sure if he knew what he said but he said it at the right time. We went to the mall today to play at the little play area they have there, so Glen could interact with other kids. There were a couple of kids that were rude and one of them stepped on Glen's hand while she was trying to go around him at the slide. She didn't want to wait for him to slowly try and climb up the steps. I had to physically pick her foot up to get her off of Glen's hand 'cause she wasn't gonna move it. Finally her mom said something to her but I don't think she really cared. Glen also got to see Meme' and Pepe' at the mall. We went to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's and had a very good time.

Glen went to the Dr's yesterday for his 15 month check up and shots. Yes I know he is a little behind. That happened when we got wrong info on the flu shot last year. He is 21 lbs 3 oz and 31 1/2 in tall. He is growing very well. We just need to put a little more weight on. His taste buds are changing and he is starting to eat more things now. He likes pizza, spagetti, lasagne, and he still likes his old faves hot dogs, chicken nuggets, fish sticks and ham.

Happy Mother's Day!

We hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day. Ours was kinda hectic. I had my tonsils removed and deviated septum fixed on thurs, so needless to say I was layed up on Mother's Day. But I got to watch Glen run around and that was the best part. I made it through the surgery and got the stints taken out of my nose today. It didn't really hurt but it felt really weird. I am still batteling with the pain in my throat but I am now on my own with Glen (Thank you everyone who helped out we really appreciate it) so I have to buck up and take resposibilty back by the reigns.

Glen is really starting to get the hang of running, and walking up and down hills. He will be a pro soon I'm sure.

Sam has been a really big help while I've been down and out. He picked up a lot of the responsibilities and took care of me. I don't know where I'd be without him.

What a Month!

Glen is such a little walker now! Last I checked he was 21 lbs. He has caught back up to the 5th percentile curve! Yeah Glen! Now we just need to get him with his height which is around the 25th percentile curve. I'm sure he will get there eventually. We are really happy he has gotten back up to his birth curve! He loves bath time, playing in the dog water bowls and trying to put his shoes on. He can say dog, ball, book, bannana, and gidget. Well not articulately but you know how baby's talk. He is also very good at listening and communicating what he wants. He will occasionally point to a picture when I ask him "which one is the boy?". In his picture book, there is a picture of a girl and a boy. We are working on pointing bannana, shoes, dog, and cat. He loves to throw balls and climb on things. Today I was unloading the dishwasher and he climbed onto the open door and held onto the top rack and tried to pull things out. He has climbed onto the coffee table in the living room also.

Sam is doing well. He was on call this week and had a couple of computer rooms go down and he had to go and take care of them. One was in atlanta at 11:30pm on sat night. He got home around 3:30am. Unfortunatly, there was nothing he could do. Their fan motor was out and they did not have spare parts on site so they had to wait 'till today to get it fixed.

I am having my tonsils removed, and deviated septum fixed on thurs. It's gonna be a rough few days but definitly worth it if i can start getting some sleep. Not much else is happening here.

Take care everyone!

Glen is sick

Well the whole family is sick. I had an upper respitory infection and Glen has the flu. I think Sam might have the flu also. Poor Glen, he definitely is not feeling well.
On Saturday, Sam and I went to see the King Tut exhibit. It was really awesome. I would recommend seeing it if it comes to a city near you. After the exhibit we went to see Georgia Tech play their spring football game. The offense played against the defense. They didn't do very well. Their were a lot of dropped balls. Now they know what they need to work on before the fall gets here. Hopefully they will be playing better by the start of the season. After that we went to Atlantic Station and ate a late lunch, early dinner at "Strip", a steak and sushi restaurant and bar. The food there was excenlent and we enjoyed that also. By the time we got home we were so worn out that we had to take a nap. Glen spent the night with Meme and Pepe while we went to town. It was a nice little break.

Glen's Walking!!!

Well Glen has had a big month! We went to Florida to visit family and had a ball. Glen got a new car seat and he did very well on the trip. He used to take naps on car trips, now he just likes to look out the window. If he is really tired, or on an 8 hour car ride he will fall asleep. We went to the Georgia Aquarium when we got back from Florida and Glen really liked to look at the fish. The tropical fish were his favorite. While we were in Florida, we practiced walking alot. I would hold his hands and help him walk. Shortly after we got back, Glen decided that he could do it on his own. One night he walked back and forth between Sam and I, then when he was sitting in the kitchen he just stood up and started walking in circles. We are so proud of him. We have added some new foods to his menu. He likes bannana cookies and vienna sausages. He is between 21 and 22 lbs now, so he is growing well. Sam installed a new heating and cooling system into our house and he did a magnificant job. He put in a new thermostat and he did the drain lines a special way to help with maintenance. He is very proud of the job he did, and he should be. I am still going to the gym 5 to 6 times a week and so far I have lost 11 to 12 lbs. I am going to kick it up a notch and see if I can lose a little faster. That's all for the news around here. If anything interesting happens I will post about it, so keep checking back.

Catherine Lonergan 03-06-1908 to 03-2009

She has seen a lot in the century that she lived, and has been through just as much. It may sound cliche' to say that she is in a better place, but if you knew Grammy then you know that it is true. She has had a hard time of it the past decade or so. I am not going to be sad for Grammy. I will definity miss mailling her birthday cards, Christmas cards, and Grandparent's Day cards, but I am going to celebrate the life that she had and that she no longer has to suffer. I have a lot of memories of her, and I am glad that she was able to meet the man that I married and see a picture of her great great grandson. I only wish that I would have taken Glen to see her last year so they could have met.

Grammy, you will be missed.

Snow!!

Well Glen got to see his first snow fall today! It has been snowing for about 5 hours now. Unbelievable for Ga. We went outside and played in it and took some pictures. We can't tell if Glen enjoyed it or not, but Sam and I had fun. It is still snowing and the snow flakes are getting bigger. The pics do not do the scene any justice. It is supposed to get down to 20 something tonight. Later on this week it is supposed to get to 70 degrees. Crazy, I know! It is 35 right now and the snow flakes are crazy big, like 1 1/2 " to 2 " big. This will be a great story for Glen when he gets older.

Talk to ya later

Glen is Growing up Quick!!

Glen got to meet his great, great aunt and uncle this month. They came by Meme and Pepe's house on their way to a friend's house and had dinner with us. We all had a great time and they loved meeting Glen. I havn't seen them in about 21 years, so it was a treat to get to see them again. Boy, oh boy is Glen growing up quick. He is almost 20 lbs now and he is 30 1/4 inches tall. We measured him against a wall today. We marked it with a pencil and wrote the date and measurement. He is really getting around now. One minute his is in one spot and the next he is on the other end of the house. He is really cruising along the furniture and climbing over things now. We were playing at the coffee table in the living room and I watched him lift his leg up onto the table and pull himself up onto the table. He then proceeded to crawl to the things we had placed where he would not be able to reach them. I was so proud of him for figuring out he could climb on the table. He definitly is a boy. A couple of days later he climbed up on to the fire place and just sat there like "look at me sitting up high". He likes to jump in his crib and throw everything out onto the floor, and he loves to see what he can get into. Glen is going to be and outside type, I'm sure of it. He loves to be outside. He will look out the window untill I take him outside to swing or crawl around or climb on the play set. Being a parent is so awesome!!!

Good News!!

We got the results of Glen's Celiac test today. They were negative. That is really good news. So the Dr. said to give him pediasure to help him gain weight and to stop giving him all dairy products that contain lactose to see if it is the lactose that is causing his stomach problems. Hopefully this will work. We will keep you posted.

love to all

You Tube Video

Ok. I figured out how to get this video on the web page. In order to hear what's going on in the video you will need to scroll down to the bottom of the blog page and click on the pause button on the audio player. When you are done with the video, you can play the player again if you want to. The pause button is located on the top left corner of the player directly above the name of the song. If there are any questions you can click on comments on this post and I will get back to you, or you could e-mail me.

Happy New Year!!

Well, the new year has come very quickly. Last year was a very wonderful and eventful year. We watched Glen grow up and change so fast. It is hard to believe that he is already 13 months old. Glen is now cruising the furniture and he walked from his bedroom to the kitchen the other day while holding onto my hands. He excites very easily and he thinks everything is either great or funny. When he sneezes, he laughs. He put his hand on my cheek and pushed making my head turn, and he laughed. Sam pushes Glen around on his train and he just loves it. He has not quite gotten the hang of walking behind his push toys, but I am confident that he will soon.
We had a great Christmas. We got to see lots of family, and Glen got lots of toys.
On Monday, I had to take Glen to have blood drawn to check for celiac disease (as soon as I get the results I will post them). Glen did so well!! He was being a little moody when we got there because he did not take a nap on the way to the lab like I had hoped. I was afraid that it was not going to go well. But as soon as the lady turned around to take his blood, he stopped moving and being fussy. He just watched her. She did all the stuff to prepare, like swab with alcohol and use the turnakit to find a vein. She stuck the needle in and drew the blood and he did not even flinch, no noise, nothing. He just watched what she was doing. He was such a good boy. I had to brag on him.

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
